Summer School First Moments André Castanho, School of Architecture, University of Minho

The "Summer School on Rebuilding Syria from Within" co-organised by the Global Platform for Syrian Students, the University of MinhoSchool of Architecture (Portugal), and the Università Iuav di Venezia (Italy)with the support of ESCWA - NAF, started on 18 July in Guimarães (Portugal). 

During the Opening, Dr. Rui Viera de Castro, Rector of the University of Minho and Dr. Jorge Sampaio, Chairman of the Global Platform for Syrian Students welcomed participants of the summer school.

During the first day we had also the opportunity of hearing a very interesting talk of Dr. Costa e Silva about Middle East region and attend the Photo Exhibition Damascènes hosted by the Museum Alberto Sampaio.

Fees

This Summer School is not held as a for profit activity. Therefore “Tuition Costs” are free as most speakers, tutors and mentors are participating on a voluntary basis. However regular participants will be requested to cover the costs of their accommodation, meals, materials, social programme and field visits. Two fee packages are available for this Summer School depending on the accommodation option:

Package A – It includes meals, materials, social programme and field visits as well as accommodation at the University residence on the basis of a shared room: Total – 195 euros.

Package B – It includes meals, materials, social programme and field visits only. Participants who will choose this package will not require accommodation from the organizers preferring to make their own bookings: Total - 135 euros.
