- What is the EU doing to handle the refugee crisis? - Young people asked

What is the EU doing to handle the refugee crisis? Sarah Mardini and Nour Machlah, student supported by the Global Platform for Syrian Students (GP4SYS), asked to and debated about with Claude Moraes MEP, Chair of the civil liberties committee.

This conversation was organised in the framework of the hearings organised by the European Parliament with the aim of coming up with ideas on how the improve the situation in Europe as part of the European Youth Event (EYE).

Following the exchange held in May 2016 when around 7,500 young people came to the Parliament to participate in the European Youth Event (EYE), a number of these participants have been invited, from 11 October until 29 November 2016, to present their ideas on anything from asylum policy to e-voting to Parliament committees.

Thanking participants at the end of the hearings this week, Vice-President Mairead McGuinness said: “Your future is determined by politics, make sure you are involved in it."

Know more about their ideias by reading the EYE Report and check-out the slideshow including some of their ideias presented at the EYE hearings.
