The most recent civil engineer in the country is called Ihssan and is 25 years old. All he always wanted is to design and build.
The first bombs sounded when he finished his degree. He left his family in the Syrian capital and became refugee in Jordan, Amman, where he spent 8 months without studying. The dream of being a civil engineer one day seemed to be postponed until he became aware of Jorge Sampaio's initiative.
Ihssan received a scholarship in 2014 to continue his studies on Civil Engineering in Aveiro together with other seven students. Ihssan´s objective is to come back to Syria as soon as possible and contribute to the rebuilding process of his country.
