The Policy Dialogue took place in Lisbon from 16 to 17 October under the High Patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic, the institutional support of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Patronage of Mr. Tibor Navracsics, Member of the European Commission. Other knowledge partners involved were Mercy Corps and Hedayah.
The event brought together more than one hundred participants, as WLC-Club de Madrid Members, experts on education and civil society representatives. The event focused on three major topics:
- Education for Preventing Violent Extremism
- Inclusive Education for Migrants, Refugees and IDPs
- Digital resilience for Shared Societies.
The main goal of this event is to develop an Agenda on Education for Shared Societies "that will serve to leverage political commitment on education as catalyst in addressing challenges affecting the advance of inclusive democratic societies"
Our Chairman, Dr. Jorge Sampaio, also WLC-Club de Madrid Member, presented our initiative, the Rapid Response Mechanism for Higher Education in Emergencies (see video below).
