Applications for 2017-2018 scholarships NOW CLOSED (Update)
UPDATE : Many thanks to all students who have applied to our scholarship programme. We are touched by your trust on us.
However as more than 2000 applications were received, there is a slight delay in processing the files.

Some of our PhD students in Architecture are attending W.A.V.e 2017 Syria being held from 26 June to 14 July in Venezia (Italy).
The Global Platform for Syrian Students co-organises with Youth Department of the Council of Europe a Summer School on Young refugees as actors for social inclusion and intercultural dialogue and in partnership with Kiron - Open Higher Education for Refugees and Voice of Young Refugees in Europe.
"Ihssan arrived at the Department of Civil Engineering (DECivil) of the University of Aveiro (UA) in 2014. He left Syria and a war that wanted to kill his future. Today he completed his Master's degree in Civil Engineering with the presentation and defense of the internship report he held at Mota-Engil. It had 18 values."
In Algarve, Tarek a Pharmacy student at the University of Algarve participated in a meeting with primary school children to share is experience of being a student in Portugal, speak about his beloved country and his dream of going back one day and help rebuild future Syria.

The platform Português mais Perto, a partnership between Camões, I.P. and Porto Editora, is now available.
The platform has dozens of interactive lessons to teach the language, allowing the student to learn autonomously, or as a second option, the student will have the support of a tutor.
We are happy to publicise the recent statement from the Faculty of Champalimaud Research - Champalimaud Foundation that they will offer help to scientists affected by the USA ban who may be stranded in Europe. Congratulations on this amazing initiative.
The Global Platform for Syrian Students participated in the regional meeting on higher education, internationalisation and academic mobility in the Euro-Mediterranean region organised by the Union for the Mediterranean Secretariat on 15 December 2016 at the UfM headquarters in Barcelona.

Helen, our student, who obtained a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering and Geoenvironment (MEGG) at ISEP, recently published an article in the internationally renowned scientific journal "Water". The work presented results, to a large extent, from his Master's dissertation, which was then classified with the exception of 19 values.
