Participants of the "Summer School on Rebuilding Syria from Within" worked on 7 studios focused in Syrian cities each. Douma, Aleppo, Palmyra, Hama, Homs, Raqqa and Al-Yarmouk Camp were studied by these groups composed by architectes and engineers as well as students in these fields. The main outcomes of these studios consisted in proposals for rebuilding public spaces and buildings in these cities.
The Summer School was co-organised by the Global Platform for Syrian Students, the University of Minho - School of Architecture (Portugal), and the Università Iuav di Venezia (Italy), with the support of ESCWA - NAF (Portugal).

Fees
This Summer School is not held as a for profit activity. Therefore “Tuition Costs” are free as most speakers, tutors and mentors are participating on a voluntary basis. However regular participants will be requested to cover the costs of their accommodation, meals, materials, social programme and field visits. Two fee packages are available for this Summer School depending on the accommodation option:
Package A – It includes meals, materials, social programme and field visits as well as accommodation at the University residence on the basis of a shared room: Total – 195 euros.
Package B – It includes meals, materials, social programme and field visits only. Participants who will choose this package will not require accommodation from the organizers preferring to make their own bookings: Total - 135 euros.
